Logroño, España. Each year, the San Mateo festivities in Logroño bring an ethical conflict between the celebration of life and the unnecessary death of animals in bullrings. AnimaNaturalis and CAS International call for the abolition of bullfights and the promotion of cruelty-free festivities.

Falces, España. The small town of Falces in Navarra has once again been the stage for a controversial tradition that sparks outrage among animal rights advocates. AnimaNaturalis and CAS International have released their latest report, exposing the cruelty inflicted on the calves and the alarming involvement of young people and teenagers in these events.

Bilbao, España. During the Aste Nagusia festivities, the Plaza de Toros de Vista Alegre in Bilbao becomes the stage for a spectacle as archaic as it is cruel: bullfighting. However, what the public doesn't see—what happens after the applause fades and the stands empty—is the true face of bullfighting.

Medinaceli, España. In a landmark decision in the fight against animal cruelty in Spain, the Administrative Litigation Court No. 1 of Soria has declared illegal the municipal ordinance that allowed the celebration of the Toro Jubilo in Medinaceli, Soria. This ordinance, dating back to 1999 and modified in 2000 and 2015, has been annulled following a lawsuit filed by the Animalist Party with the Environment (PACMA) in November 2023, in a process that could spell the end of one of the last "embolado" bull events in Castilla y León.

Barcelona, España. The AnimaNaturalis International Foundation is proud to present its 2023 Annual Report, a document that highlights the efforts, progress, and successes achieved during a year of tireless work in favor of animal rights.

Madrid, España. For just under a month, notaries across Spain have begun collecting signatures for the #NoEsMiCultura Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP, in spanish), aiming to gather the necessary 500,000 signatures in major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Zaragoza, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao, Granada, Seville, A Coruña, Logroño, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, among many others.

Madrid, España. The promoting organizations will have nine months to gather the 500,000 signatures necessary to initiate its debate in Congress.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, España. The lack of transparency regarding the status of the necessary permits for the installation of the first industrial octopus farm in Las Palmas has meant that we must file a contentious-administrative appeal before the Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Morella, España. AnimaNaturalis and CAS International documented this weekend a contest where the horns of several bulls were lit with fire, in Morella (Castellón, Spain). Two bulls suffered accidents that, despite the censorship and aggression that the public tried, could be recorded.

Pamplona, España. Oloroso, Hípico, Sonámbulo, Rascatripas, Fundidor, Ofuscado, Legionario and Ibicenco. These are the names of the steers that were tortured and killed on the first date of Pamplona's Feria del Toro, which inaugurates the bullfights that will be held during San Fermín.

Ciudad de México, México. In this 2023 we have a double celebration, in March it marks 20 years since our organization was established in Barcelona, Spain, by Leonora Esquivel and Francisco Vázquez Neira, and in May we celebrate 15 years of having a presence in México.

Madrid, España. While 124 billion fish die annually in fish farms under conditions of systemic torture, the industry reduces them to “biomass” to obscure their suffering. Science confirms their sentience, but 72% lack legal protection at the time of slaughter. The FAO is complicit by omitting individual counts.

Medinaceli, España. Last Tuesday we filed a complaint with the Territorial Delegation of the Government of Castilla y León in Soria for violations of the Regulation.

Nules, España. AnimaNaturalis accuses the organizers of trying to mask a children's running of the bulls as a displays of pastoralism in Nules, where the participation of minors was previously encouraged from social media.

Teruel, España. AnimaNaturalis and CAS International have documented the traditional roped bulls of Teruel, one of the most prominent acts of animal abuse on its festival program.

Tlalpan, México. The Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation pretended to be a “sanctuary” for tigers, lions, jaguars and cougars, but it has been exposed as a space for suffering, abuse and death to these animals.

Vinaròs, España. Our undercover team recorded a fired bulls championship in Vinaròs (Castellón). The images cannot leave anyone unmoved. This is the horror of the bulls with fire in Spain.

L'Ampolla, España. The strong season of shows with bulls in Catalonia has begun in Terres de l'Ebre. More than 450 shows are expected to be held until the end of the year, of which a hundred will be filled with fire.

Madrid, España. Industrial farming is devouring the planet and is the cruelest and dirtiest face of the business that profits from the lives of animals.
